Learn About my Favorite Teletherapy Combo!

Let me introduce you to my favorite couple, the @toy_theater_educational_games SPINNER and @google JAMBOARD! This duo brings an extra layer of engagement and interactivity to my teletherapy sessions- and you don’t need to share mouse control to use it! Let me share about a few features of each and then I’ll give tips on how to use them together during an activity.

TOY THEATER SPINNER: Toy Theater has a ton of interactive activities and games for you to screen share so definitely check it out. As for the spinner, it is a great, open ended tool that can be modified and used with a variety of activities. It’s simple and versatile. You click on the spinner and it spins to give you a random color/number.

JAMBOARD: I can’t get into all of the functions but you can insert any picture into the jamboard (TIP- use your snipping tool!), write or highlight directly on the page, and use the sticky note feature to type. You share the link to the client and they open up the tab with access to edit. No screen sharing needed! You can do a quick google search of a picture within the Jamboard and the client cannot see your search results. A drawback is you cannot type on the jamboard without using a sticky note.

HOW TO USE THEM TOGETHER:
First I open up a new jamboard and send the link to my client. I ask them to open it in a new tab so they can still see me. Then I screen share the toy theater spinner. My favorite activity is to find pictures of target words or picture scenes to describe and give each a different colored sticky note. (And my little type A heart melted when I realized the sticky notes are the same colors as the spinner) I use the spinner to decide which word to practice or scene to describe! After your session, you can download the jamboard as a pdf and send it to the parent along with the toy theater link. You just made your homework and your client already knows how to practice it!
