Today I’m sharing my last Play & Language Pairing (for now)!.
By now you’ve probably heard me say that certain vocabulary enhances a play activity and makes it more meaningful and enjoyable for children. I like to include sound play words and functional vocabulary words into a play activity so the child can be inspired to interact as well as learn words that make a difference in their day to day communication skills.

Today’s pairing is all about the kitchen. You can target these words while cooking, eating, or during pretend play.

SOUND PLAY: yuck, yum, ew.

FUNCTIONAL VOCAB: eat, more, all done.
